Seattle Auto Repair

One of the most stressful things about uprooting and moving to a new city is finding a new mechanic. As a girl who knows nothing about cars, it's easy to get totally worked over by mechanics. Another shop told me, about a month prior to my experience at Budd & Co, that i needed around $600+ in repairs to my vehicle. strapped for cash i declined. Budd & Co however, told me that none of them were necessary, at all. Honesty is awesome! Also the customer service was fantastic. Jordan rules. They quickly and cost efficiently fixed all the problems. Such a huge relief to have a place i can take my car and not worry.

Budd and Co. got my business by default because they are located near by. I'm a REALLY bad driver and tend to hit curbs and forget to get my oil changed and shit. Budd and Co. is on my block. I've used them before and felt comfortable with them. They guy I usually deal with has secret agent voice. I'm a sucker for secret agent voice.I hit a curb. Hard. Bent my rim and blew my newish tire out. Next morning driving to work, a gentleman asked me to roll down my window so he could deliver the news that I had a flat. So that's why my steering wheel is veering to the left. Limped my car back to my block and got a ride.Called Budd and Co and asked for an estimate. I was informed that they couldn't give me one without looking at my tires. I told them I was parked a block away and they took the time to hoof it to my car, diagnose the problem and provide me with an an accurate estimate which included finding me a used wheel to save me some $$$. They had me back on the road one day later at a reasonable cost, I called around before giving them the green light. They were competitive in pricing and very professional. In a nutshell, they are a trustworthy establishment.

This was a great experience. I went to this shop two Fridays in a row - two weeks in a row because I did not take the recommendations they gave me the first time. I was leaving town both times and they managed to were able to take care of my issue quickly. They were great to work with and showed me exactly what needed to be fixed. They gained my trust and my continued business.

If you still have a gas-burner, this is the place in Seattle - professional, kind, and courteous to a fault. Friday night on the way home my transmission dies. Monday I drop off the car, and for a replacement transmission+clutch+flywheel including labor I was given an estimate of $1770+/-.This morning I called to check on the rig, and they shamefacedly told me that the previous mechanic (another shop) had failed to bolt things back together properly after a clutch replacement and that while the clutch+flywheel was needed, the already-installed new transmission *wasn't* and I wouldn't be charged for it, as they should have spotted that before opening things up.Out the door at $1,067.84. I have *no* complaints about Budd & Co and have used them on other vehicles - getting consistently better prices and service than I am accustomed to. Budd for the win!

This place is great. I have to say that when I leave Seattle, this is going to be one of the places I miss most. These guys always do a great job with my Jetta, make sure I understand exactly what they want to do, and never push sales. I have recommended this place to a number of people.Granted, they are not going to offer basement prices, but the extra cost means they don't feel a need to sell you services you don't need. Besides, this place is busy enough that they don't need to invent business. One example: I took my car in to have a cracked rear view mirror fixed. They said that if they were to do it, they would have to replace the other piece (which would be around 80 bucks). They suggested that I just go to a glass place down the street and save some money. So, instead of paying 80 bucks (plus labor), I paid about 15 bucks at the glass shop.

The only place I take my truck. Awesome to deal with, no nonsense. They've always treated me better than any other mechanic I've ever seen. Very nice and courteous. I've had lots of work done here and I've never been anything but thoroughly impressed. (The work was done on different vehicles. When Budd's fixes something, it stays fixed.) I've had a transmission rebuild here, complete break job on my wife's car, and various small things like a headlight replaced. They're the only shop I'll deal with.

I didn't think I would need to find my own personal mechanic so soon after moving to Seattle, but, I guess my car sucks. Fricken Suzuki's. This was the second place the towing guys tried to drop off my car at. The first one said they couldn't do anything until Monday (it was Thursday, NYE), and didn't offer to let me drop my car off for work.Budd & Co said the same thing about working on my car when we stopped by, but they immediately offered to house my car for those 4 days so I wouldn't have to tow my car 10 more miles away. They looked really busy, but jumped right in at helping me. That Monday afternoon, they called me and told me my car was ready. I was happy with the price and the speedy service. Granted, it was a pretty easy fix, but I was impressed and grateful. They didn't try to sell me up on anything else, they just fixed the problem and left me a message stating it was done. Why can't everything be that easy? My new mechanics? Yes.

Had good experience fixing my air conditioning. Wasn't dirt cheap, but they kept to their estimate and finished the job on time.

I stand by these guys 100%. They have always had my back when other companies have tried cheating me out of money. I have tried probably 5 or 6 other places around town, most all of them AAA certified, and they have all tried to scam me by telling me things needed to be fixed that have not. Most recently I went for an oil change at Elliott Tire & Service Center because I had a coupon, I came out of there with a piece of paper telling me I needed $1500 worth of work done on my 2006 car. So I go to Budd & Co and they are honest and trustworthy about what needs to be done, they explain numbers to me on the car, they are not afraid of giving me a fair diagnostic. I think these guys are terrific. The $1500 of work that Elliott Tire & Service Center told me needed to be done turned in a $35 fee at Budd & Co to look at the vehicle and I drove away carefree. I will never go anywhere else.
